Behind the film: Mazdutide references & context

Peptides in 2 — Episode 15. Evidence across borders. Final film in this group. Evidence cutoff: October 14, 2026, America/Phoenix. Published October 14, 2026. World Peptide Foundation. Every experience matters.

The distinct story

This finale follows a molecule from a Lilly-originated programme through Innovent’s development in China to defined trial findings and China-specific indications. It closes the group with four questions: who was studied, what was measured, what harms occurred, and where the product is authorized for a particular use. That closing framework is an editorial synthesis, not a new clinical finding. The film does not rank medicines from separate studies or introduce another next-film teaser.

Identity, origins and credit

Mazdutide is a synthetic oxyntomodulin analogue with GLP-1 and glucagon receptor agonist activity, also known as OXM3, IBI362 and LY3305677. It is studied and used as a once-weekly subcutaneous medicine within its applicable product and jurisdictional context. Corporate origin is distinct from the contribution of trial investigators.

Innovent’s August 21, 2019 licensing announcement identifies Lilly’s clinical-stage OXM3 and the China development/commercialization agreement. Innovent’s 2019 investor presentation distinguishes China rights from Lilly’s ex-China rights. The corporate cards identify the United States and China as corporate/development contexts; they do not claim the exact location of an invention or depict an actual company laboratory. No person is credited as sole inventor.

Linong Ji, Hongwei Jiang, Yan Bi and the GLORY-1 investigators authored the pivotal report. Ji and Jiang are listed as equal contributors. Ji’s listed affiliation includes Peking University People’s Hospital, Beijing; sponsor investigators also contributed. Funding and sponsor involvement were reported by the authors. Primary report and investigator list; PubMed 40421736.

The selected clinical evidence

GLORY-1 randomized 610 adults in China to two mazdutide groups or placebo. The groups contained 203, 202 and 205 participants. Treatment lasted 48 weeks; the two primary endpoints were assessed at week 32. Eligibility used Chinese overweight/obesity criteria. This film shows the week-48 secondary weight-change estimates, not a different trial or the primary week-32 measurements.

Research groupMean weight change at week 4895% confidence interval
4 mg−11.00%−12.27% to −9.73%
6 mg−14.01%−15.36% to −12.66%
Placebo+0.30%−0.98% to +1.58%

The treatment-policy analysis addresses stopping treatment and starting other antiobesity interventions. Missing-data modelling remains part of the estimate; this is not a complete observed-outcomes dataset. Gastrointestinal events predominated. A group average does not predict each person’s outcome. Full adverse-event details and discontinuations require the primary paper.

How to read the picture

The three plotted points are signed percentage changes from baseline: negative is weight loss, positive is gain. The vertical reference line is zero. Whiskers are the reported 95% confidence intervals for the means, not individual-response ranges. The plot does not animate estimates through invented intermediate values. Study-group doses identify research arms and do not provide administration, escalation or self-treatment instructions.

The sponsor also reported efficacy-estimand figures. Those answer a different analysis question and must not be substituted into this treatment-policy graphic. See Innovent’s original GLORY-1 announcement and estimator table. This company communication is identified as such. The film deliberately selects one population, duration and estimand rather than combining larger headline figures from other programmes.

Approval and jurisdiction

Innovent announced China NMPA approval for chronic weight management on June 27, 2025, and for glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes on September 19, 2025. These are announcement dates. The NMPA approval-document delivery register lists June 24, 2025 for the initial approval documents. The film therefore states the year and shows the announcement months, without presenting announcement and legal document dates as identical.

These indications have separate supporting programmes. The selected obesity results are not proof of a diabetes endpoint, cardiovascular benefit or benefit for every population. China approval is not authorization in every country. The film gives no prediction of an FDA decision or global launch. The FDA’s current unapproved-GLP-1 page discusses same-name products sold outside approved channels; an online product name does not establish an authorized medicine’s identity or quality.

Art, motion and rights

Three original images were generated for this episode: a freeze-drying chamber, an environmental stability-testing chamber, and a machine-vision vial-inspection carousel. They are conceptual technology art, not actual mazdutide facilities, marketed products, trial instruments or demonstrated manufacturing methods. The film does not establish that any pictured equipment was used by Lilly, Innovent or GLORY-1. Vial counts, lighting and materials are artistic composition, not study data.

No prior content image was supplied as a reference or reused. The established WPF brand image remains. Research and regulatory graphics are drawn with precise native type and geometry. Slow movement over a still image is presentation motion; no working-machine animation or molecular binding simulation is claimed. Montserrat’s included SIL Open Font License applies to its use.

One complete Tom performance contains every section and the WPF sign-off, generated at normal speed. No secondary speaker, older closing or replacement sentence is spliced into it. No speech samples are time-stretched. Only confirmed low-energy pauses may be shortened; their locations are recorded in timing.json. A new quiet instrumental score sits below the narration; it was not taken from another film. No paid video generation is used.

Delivery and practical limits

The package contains the movie, exact requested transcript, optional English SRT/VTT captions, plan, thumbnail, source project and website-copy fields. Captions use recognition-assisted timing with scientific spellings and numerical formatting corrected. They are not a hidden second narration track. The complete closing is spoken before the final fade. This is an educational overview, not medical advice. WPF does not sell peptides. Contributed experiences and controlled research remain distinct evidence types.

Technical checks cover the full decode, both audio channels, all narration sections, closing completeness, caption bounds, actual speech gaps, clinical point/interval values, and original-art hashes. These checks do not amount to independent medical peer review or human listening; no such endorsement is claimed. Final perceived voice quality remains a viewer judgment.

The source pack excludes signed transfer URLs, service credentials, downloaded speech-recognition models and complete copyrighted research articles. The evidence is linked rather than republished. The final film closes this particular group, not the subject of peptide research. Corrections: admin@worldpeptidefoundation.org.

Mazdutide closes this group with a different milestone: a dual GLP-one and glucagon receptor medicine that reached approval in China.

It originated in Lilly’s research. Innovent licensed development and commercial rights in China in twenty nineteen, connecting American discovery with Chinese clinical development.

Linong Ji and colleagues tested it in GLORY-one: six hundred ten adults in China, randomized to mazdutide or placebo for forty-eight weeks.

Average weight fell eleven percent in the four-milligram group and fourteen point zero one percent in the six-milligram group. Placebo participants gained zero point three percent.

This analysis includes people who stopped treatment or started other weight therapies. Gastrointestinal symptoms were the most common adverse events. Population averages cannot predict every individual response.

China approved mazdutide for weight management and type two diabetes in twenty twenty-five. These are separate indications. The obesity trial does not establish diabetes outcomes, and approval in one country does not authorize use everywhere.

As this group ends, connect each claim to its population, measurement, safety record, and local approval. The evidence continues beyond any single film.
